Technical Developer

Employment Type: Full-time / Part-time / Off-cycle Internship
Location: London / Liverpool

Technology is the core part of AlgoLib. By working with the team you will help AlgoLib build out our cutting-edge platform which provides an end-to-end, fully managed cloud service (data acquisition, storage and analysis capability) for Big Data and trading algorithms, solve complex web engineering problems and bring passion for coding, building businesses, web development, and data! You will be given a unique insight into how the firm operates, working closely with internal and external clients on live projects.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Based on your skills, you will be matched to available projects within a Development or Engineering team as follows:
  • Development Team: Our development team designs, develops and maintains applications used by our business units, including general office IT support functions, helping our clients rise to the challenge of analysing big and complex data sets, and developing client reporting delivery system. We also expect you to translate business needs to software development tasks (such as system design decisions, evaluation, integration and software development), and perform advanced data migration and management, corporate network management, content filtering management, client and security agent management.
  • Engineering Team: Our engineering team develops cutting-edge systems to run our platform, and provide tools, applications such as operating systems and databases for the web applications. Your work will consist of building AlgoLib cloud platform, software products, including tooling, web services and applications. We expect you to be able to write robust code to abstract the complexity of our backend and build services on top of it. Collaborate with Frontend / Backend developers, your goal is to improve the scalability and performance for our platform for ensuring compatibility both ways.

WHO CAN APPLY

  • You hold or are pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related technology / science / engineering discipline, with a minimum 2.1 honours degree or equivalent.
  • You have outstanding Computer Science fundamentals including object- oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving and complexity analysis.
  • You have experience with the following programming languages: Python, Java, C++, Matlab, and have operating system knowledge (Windows or Unix) and familiar with cloud technologies (AWS).
  • You have expert knowledge of modern JavaScript, HTML, CSS, including libraries and frameworks, and experience managing databases.
  • You have excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, good comprehension of data structures, algorithms and complexity theory, strong database and scripting skills, a keen interest in technology innovations and product development.
  • You have excellent communication and teamwork skills. You are fluent in English.

Business Development & Marketing Associate

This role is about driving the growth of AlgoLib's products, services, and solutions. You need to explore and build relationships with data professionals, cloud platforms, customers and investors to develop our business. You will also have the opportunity to work closely with other teams within the company to develop creative product demonstrations and design new interfaces based on the needs of prospective customers’ businesses. We’re looking for someone who is highly ambitious with excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a challenging, fun work environment.

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • You will explore and identify market opportunities to translate insights into actions, and attract new clients to drive growth in the business.
  • You will work with customers to understand business requirements and challenges for translation into sales tools and present Business Intelligence solutions to prospective customers.
  • You will develop a deep understanding of existing business using data to build insights about our marketing partners, advertisers, products and competitors.
  • You will help drive and coordinate the creation of case studies, news stories, press releases and event communications.

WHO CAN APPLY

  • You have years of enterprise sales experience, perferably in a technology company. You are able to navigate large companies or organisations and establish rapport and credibility with a broad set of influencers.
  • You are able to work both independently and cross-functionally (partnerships, sales, finance, product marketing, product engineering, and business intelligence/IT).
  • You have strong organisational, managerial, presentation and negotiation skills to successfully communicate with internal and external customers.
  • You are able to work in a fluid/changing environment of a fast-growing startup.
  • Experience marketing to developers, data scientists, cloud platform, engineering management, and financial institutes is a plus.

Quantitative Analyst

Employment Type: Full-time / Part-time / Off-cycle Internship
Location: London / Oxford / Liverpool

Our Quant Development team is designed for AlgoLib Business Intelligence. By working with our top-tier professionals and researchers, you will drive innovative analytical models and algorithms through financial engineering, derivatives modelling, asset and liability management and risk management. You'll help develop and maintain mathematical models, advanced methodologies and tools while gaining in-depth insight into the world of investment banking and associated model risk.

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • You will work with our leading quantitative development team to provide effective valuation and hedging models to help our clients manage risk and create trading strategies.
  • You will work alongside technology and other teams to develop analytics tools for the Front Office while gaining technical knowledge and insight in market valuations.
  • The tools will be based on mathematical models, statistical models and machine learning, and built to increase business efficiency and PnL (e.g. inventory/portfolio optimisation, future scenario prediction etc…)
  • Colleagues, tutors and mentors will support your learning and growth throughout the time.

WHO CAN APPLY

  • You are in your penultimate or final year, studying towards a Master’s or Doctorate degree or other advanced degree in a quantitative subject such as Mathematics, Financial Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Quantitative Finance or Computer Science.
  • You have advanced experience with programming languages: e.g., C++, Matlab, Python, (TensorFlow for machine learning is a plus).
  • You have a strong mathematical background and excellent analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills and demonstrated research skills.
  • You have a keen interest in the financial markets and have excellent communication (both verbal and written) and teamwork skills, and the ability to present findings to a non-technical audience.
